* A newspaper clipping before me speaking of the Yerkes method in Chicago, says: “True, there had been champions of public rights in that body before, notable John H. Hamline, a splendid figure of a man, rugged and vehement. Adolphus W. Maltby followed him – a ‘solid’ business man – insisting on public rights.” Mr. Maltby resides at Concord, California.
